Milk can stimulate stomach acidity during digestion: Expert

That cool glass of milk might calm heartburn for a moment, but the relief doesn't always last. Milk's calcium and proteins can actually stimulate stomach acid production later during digestion, says dietitian Garima Dev Verman. So while it may feel soothing at first sip, relying on milk regularly for acidity could backfire for some people sensitive to reflux triggers.
