Milky Way might have 'eaten' another galaxy 10 billion yrs ago, scientists find remains

Scientists think Milky Way might have absorbed a dwarf galaxy, Loki, around 10 billion years ago in an act of 'galactic cannibalism'. Researchers identified 20 metal-poor stars near Milky Way's galactic disc that could be remnants of Loki. The stars showed unusual chemical compositions compared to typical Milky Way stars, while some were found moving opposite to the disc's rotation.
