Tamil Nadu Health Minister and DMK leader Ma Subramanian was criticised for wrongly blaming North Indians after an oncologist was stabbed inside the Kalaignar Centenary Hospital in Chennai. "Around four north Indians...attacked the doctor after locking him up in a room," Subramanian had purportedly said. The attacker was later identified as Vigneshwaran, a resident of Chennai.
