A minor boy in Uttar Pradesh filed a plea in the Supreme Court seeking permission to donate his liver to his father, who is currently critically ill. Only adults and deceased minors can donate organs, as per The Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 1994. The apex court has issued a notice to the UP government over the boy's plea.
