Mobile phones to become cheaper as import duty on parts cut to 10%

Mobile phones are set to become cheaper as the government has slashed the import duty on key components of mobile phones from 15% to 10%. These components include battery enclosures, primary lenses, rear covers, and various mechanical components made from a combination of plastic and metal. The move is expected to benefit the sector in manufacturing as well as exports.
