Paul Rosolie, conservationist, contracted a rare tick-borne disease in India so uncommon that a New York doctor called in medical students just to see it. Weeks of antibiotics failed. In the Amazon, his guide JJ extracted tree sap, sealed the infected wound, and by the next morning it had healed. Rosolie said doctors were "insulted" when told.
