Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge accused PM Narendra Modi-led government of "looting" the common public by increasing railway fares. “This is second railway fare hike in a single year, days before the Union Budget. Railway ails as Modi government is busy in fake publicity,” he said. Kharge further claimed that 2.18 lakh deaths occurred in railway accidents between 2014-2023.
