Superstar Mohanlal has joined the cast of Prithviraj Sukumaran's two-part crime drama Khalifa, directed by Vysakh, playing Mambarakkal Ahmed Ali. The first instalment, Khalifa: The Intro, is set for an Onam 2026 release, followed by Khalifa: His Reign. A glimpse video introduces Prithviraj as elite criminal Aamir Ali, and the film is produced by Jiinu Abraham Innovation.
