Monsang fishing traditions sustain streams

In the hill streams of Manipur's Chandel district, the Monsang community continues to practise distinctive fishing methods. A first of its kind study documents indigenous fishing practices among the Monsang communities of Manipur. The findings show how traditional ecological knowledge supports livelihoods and sustainable fishing while contributing to the conservation of hill stream ecosystems.
