The IMD on Saturday announced, "Southwest Monsoon has set in over Kerala today, against the normal date of June 1." It added, "Thus, Southwest Monsoon has set in over Kerala 8 days before the normal date." The IMD also said that it's the earliest date of monsoon onset over Kerala after 2009, when it set on May 23, 2009.
