The MET department is expecting the Southwest monsoon to hit the Kerala coast in the next 48 hours, following a four-day delay. Monsoon in Kerala marks the onset of the rainy season in the rest of India and generally hits around June 1. The expected date was May 30 this year, however, it was revised to June 5 later.
