Research by University of Washington found mosquitoes are more attracted to colours like red, orange, black and cyan. "When they smell...CO2 from our breath, that scent stimulates the eyes to scan for specific colors...associated with a potential host, and head to them," professor Jeffrey Riffell said. Human skin regardless of its shade emits red-orange signal to their eyes, he added.
