Mozilla has acquired Fakespot, a startup that uses an AI and machine learning-based system to identify fake online reviews. The system detects "patterns and similarities between reviews in order to flag those that are most likely to be deceptive", Mozilla said. It added that Fakespot will be integrated with its Firefox browser but will also work with other major browsers.
