MP HC issues notice over Dacoity Act as 1,000 booked despite state being dacoit-free
The Madhya Pradesh High Court has questioned the constitutional validity of a 45-year-old law enacted to fight dacoity and kidnapping, asking the state to explain why the Act should not be struck down. The court issued notices after a PIL said over 1,000 people had been booked under the law since 2020, despite the state being declared dacoit-free.
