Madhya Pradesh Police has replaced 69 Urdu and Farsi words from its dictionary with Hindi words. A directive showed 'bayan' can be replaced with 'kathan' (statement), 'zapt' with 'abhigrahan' (seize), 'adalat' with 'nyayalaya' (court), 'zakham' with 'chot' (injury), 'sangeen' with 'gambhir' (serious) and 'zurm' with 'aparadh' (crime). It also called for replacing 'saboot' with 'praman' (proof).
