As many as 15,841 cases in England were not reported from September 25 to October 2 because the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet containing the test results reportedly reached its maximum size. Public Health England (PHE) issued a statement saying that a "technical issue" was identified in the "data load process" but did not confirm whether it was specifically an Excel error.
