The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) officials said the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) will be connected with the Mumbai-Pune Expressway in order to deal with traffic jams. It will be achieved by building an elevated corridor, which will be constructed at a cost of ₹1,000 crore, connecting the expressway to MTHL with an interchange at Chirle.
