A poll by BBC Culture has named the 2001 David Lynch-directorial 'Mulholland Drive' the greatest film of the 21st century. The poll was conducted among 177 critics from 36 countries. 'In the Mood for Love' (2000) and 'There Will Be Blood' (2007) came second and third respectively. The most popular directors on the list included Christopher Nolan and Michael Haneke.
