Multiplex Association of India (MAI) has raised concerns over Netflix’s proposed acquisition of Warner Bros Discovery's TV and film studios and streaming division in $82.7-billion deal. MAI said the acquisition could pose a direct economic threat to India's theatrical and broader film economy. It warned of "reduced high-quality content for cinemas and shorter or non-existent theatrical windows".
