The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train is expected to start service in Gujarat by 2027, expanding to Maharashtra later. Trial runs will begin in 2026, and the first phase is likely to start before the 2027 Gujarat Assembly election. The 508 km corridor will feature twelve stations, with ninety percent of the track elevated. Completion is targeted for late 2028.
