Mumbai airport capacity may fall 27% from October 2027

Mumbai airport’s annual passenger capacity could drop from around 55 million to 40 million from October 2027 if Terminal 1 shuts completely for redevelopment, a report citing an airport presentation to airlines said. The closure could displace up to 15 million domestic passengers annually, with much of the traffic expected to shift to Navi Mumbai.
