Maharashtra has approved e-bike taxis with a 15-kilometre ride limit, aiming to create 20,000 jobs. However, Auto Rickshaw-Taximen Union in Mumbai strongly opposes the move, fearing a threat to the livelihood of 15 lakh rickshaw drivers. Unions held protests at RTOs and warned of intensified agitation if the state doesn't address their concerns.
