Maharashtra is considering a new policy requiring Mumbai gymkhanas on government land to pay market-linked rent, revised every five years, IE reported. The panel also recommended better public access to them. Gymkhanas and VIP clubs reportedly occupy a fifth of Mumbai's 3,780 acres of open space. Proposed conditions also include use of these premises for government events and during disasters.
