Rohit Arya, the man behind the Mumbai recording studio hostage case, occasionally visited his elderly parents in Pune. Neighbours at the society where his parents stay said they were shocked to see him in the news, revealing his original surname was Harolikar. "We came to know through news...that he uses Arya as surname instead of Harolikar," a society resident said.
