Mumbai’s suburban rail network is set for a massive overhaul. Central and Western Railways have launched several infrastructure projects worth ₹18,364.94 crore to expand and modernise the Mumbai Local Train system. Expanding over 400 km of tracks, adding new corridors and extra lines. The upgrades will reduce crowding, cut travel time, and improve train reliability.
