Mumbai may lose 8.2 acres of mangroves for cloverleaf junction

Mumbai’s Bhandup could lose 8.2 acres of mangroves for a cloverleaf junction planned under Phase IV of the Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR). The project will affect 187 mangroves and 217 trees. Fishermen have raised concerns as mangroves support fishing and breeding areas. The MCZMA is expected to decide on the proposal on September 24.
