The Maharashtra government has approved the expansion of Mumbai Metro Line 5, marking a significant step in strengthening the city’s rapid transit network. The project will include a new integrated extension, Metro 5A, which, together with the existing line, will cost ₹18,130.55 crore and connect Thane, Bhiwandi, Kalyan, and Ulhasnagar.
