Mumbai’s water stock in reservoirs supplying the city surged to approximately 50.75% (6.79 lakh ML) as of July 4, following heavy rains in Thane and Nashik catchment areas, per BMC data. Modak Sagar recorded the highest 24‑hour rainfall (78 mm). City officials say the rise eases short‑term supply concerns but still requires further monsoon replenishment.
