A Central Railway ticket inspector in Mumbai, Mohammed Shams Chand, has collected over ₹1 crore in fines by catching 11,483 ticketless travellers between April 2025 and March 2026. The milestone makes him the first ticket-checking official in the Mumbai division to reach this figure, highlighting intensified drives to curb fare evasion and protect railway revenue.
