Mumbai has recorded India's highest road traffic CO2 emissions per km due to extreme vehicle density, a new Scientific Data study shows. Other metros like Delhi, Bengaluru and Chennai also contribute heavily to transport pollution, especially NOx and CO. Researchers mapped emissions at 500-metre resolution under the CHETNA project to guide future urban climate policy.
