The Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) has given the go-ahead to companies like BEST, TATA Power, MSEDCL and Adani to increase prices of electricity in Mumbai. The prices are likely to increase by 5-10%, starting April 1. People using the BEST, which reportedly offers lowest rates, will see their tariffs rise by 6.19% in 2023–24 and 6.7% in 2024–25.
