Tourists visiting Munnar in Kerala may soon have to pay an entry fee from August 2026. The Munnar panchayat is planning this move to manage waste better and reduce traffic in the popular hill station. Around 2,000 vehicles enter Munnar daily, and the number goes up to nearly 5,000 during peak tourist season, creating waste and congestion problems.
