Late patriarch MV Murugappan's daughter Valli Arunachalam has sought a seat on the male-only board of Ambadi Investments, ₹37,000-crore (revenue) Murugappa Group's holding company. Along with her mother and sister, Valli inherited 8.15% stake in Ambadi, whose promoter stake is owned by seven branches of the family. She demanded that female heirs be given equal opportunity in the family business.
