Elon Musk-led tunnelling startup 'The Boring Company' on Wednesday received formal approval to dig a 3.2-kilometre-long test tunnel that would help commuters avoid traffic in Hawthorne, California. The tunnel will run 44 feet below the public roads. The Boring Company, which operates from SpaceX's headquarters in Hawthorne, has only dug into its own property till now.
