A Muslim woman performed the last rites of a Hindu man, Narayanan, as per his customs in Kasaragod after he passed away from cancer. Police authorised the woman to perform his funeral rites at a public crematorium after the man's relatives refused to claim the body. "I performed Narayanan's last rites as a daughter. Humanity is above religion," she said.
