A probe found that 7,375 of 12,321 boundary pillars in Mussoorie's forests are missing, raising concerns of massive encroachment by land mafias with official collusion. IFS officer Sanjiv Chaturvedi flagged the issue. The Centre has ordered a probe, while the Head of Forest Force in Uttarakhand states a committee has been constituted and the matter is currently being investigated.
