Myanmar on Saturday formally commissioned submarine INS Sindhuvir, which was handed over by India to the country in October this year, into its Navy. The diesel-electric Kilo Class submarine, which has been renamed as UMS Minye Theinkhathu, was in operation in the Indian Navy since 1988. UMS Minye Theinkhathu is the first submarine in Myanmar Navy's arsenal.
