A Mysuru contractor was allegedly kidnapped while returning home from his farmhouse and driven around overnight before being released after paying ₹16 lakh. The accused reportedly threatened to kill him, claiming they had received a ₹9 lakh contract to murder him, and demanded ₹40 lakh. They also allegedly took 30 grams of gold jewellery. Police have launched a search operation.
