Nagaland folk artist Guru Sangyusang Pongener from the Ao Naga tribe was conferred with Padma Shri award for his contributions in the field of art by President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday. Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio congratulated the dancer. Taking to X, he wrote, "His lifelong commitment to preserving the rich folk heritage of Nagaland over past six decades is inspiring."
