Nairobi beat London to host World Athletics C'ships 2029 in historic 1st for Africa

Nairobi beat London and Rome to win the right to host the World Athletics Championships 2029. Nairobi will become the African city to host the event for the first time. World Athletics president Sebastian Coe said Nairobi had presented "a compelling and emotional bid". Nairobi had submitted a bid for the 2025 championships but missed out to Tokyo.
