Nana Patekar and his wife Neelakanthi visited the world's largest community kitchen at the Golden Temple in Amritsar and washed dishes there as part of seva. He said, "The level of seva and faith people have has left me awestruck...I have never felt such...tranquillity before." He added, "Everyone is equal here, no discrimination on the basis of caste (or) creed."
