NASA mission detects first possible 'Marsquake', shares audio

Scientists on Tuesday revealed that they might have detected the first known seismic tremor on Mars. The audio was recorded by a dome-shaped seismometer on April 6 that landed with NASA's InSight spacecraft last November. The team said they were working to confirm the cause of the "marsquake" and ensure it came from the planet's interior rather than wind distortion.

World's richest man Elon Musk to visit India later this year

The world's richest man had spoken to PM Narendra Modi on Friday about issues including collaboration in areas of technology and innovation. Colour no one has seen before found

A team of scientists at University of California, Berkeley, has claimed to have found a colour that no one has seen before. The researchers have named the colour 'olo' and have said that its hue could only be experienced through laser manipulation of the retina. Five people who have seen the colour described it as 'blue-green'.

Systematic persecution of Hindus: India condemns Hindu leader's killing in B'desh

India on Saturday condemned abduction and killing of Hindu leader Bhabesh Chandra in Bangladesh's Dinajpur. "This killing follows a pattern of systematic persecution of Hindu minorities under (Bangladesh's) interim government," said Foreign Ministry. It said the interim government should "live up to its responsibility of protecting all minorities, including Hindus, without inventing excuses".

Tremors felt in Delhi-NCR & J&K as 5.8-magnitude earthquake hits Afghanistan

An earthquake of 5.8 magnitude struck Afghanistan on Saturday, with tremors being felt in Kashmir and Delhi NCR, reports said. According to National Center for Seismology, the quake struck at 12.17 pm IST at a depth of 130 km. No casualties, injuries or damages to property were immediately reported after the earthquake.

JEE Main session 2 results declared, 24 students get 100 score

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 results, with 24 students scoring 100 percentile score in Paper 1 (BE/BTech). Students from Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Telangana, UP, Gujarat, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal are among them. The results are available on jeemain.nta.nic.in and can be accessed using application number and date of birth.

The government has clarified that the claims it is considering levying GST on UPI transactions over ₹2,000 are completely false, misleading, and without any basis. It said that no such proposal is under consideration and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting digital payments through UPI. Reports had claimed that government was contemplating 18% GST on UPI transactions above ₹2,000.

Class 12 Physics & Math requirement for becoming commercial pilot might be scrapped: Report

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is planning to scrap the current rule that requires students to have studied Physics and Math in Class 12 to be eligible for commercial pilot licence training. In India, commercial pilot training has been restricted to Science and Math students since the mid-1990s, as per Times of India.

Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority facilitated first commercial sea shipment of Indian Bhagwa variety of pomegranates from Maharashtra's Ahilyanagar to US, which government hailed as a "historic initiative". Fourteen tonnes of Indian pomegranates were exported. Indian Bhagwa pomegranates are known for their rich flavour, deep red colour & high nutritional value.
