NASA shared a picture, showing the closest-ever look at a monster black hole, captured by Hubble Space Telescope. The black hole is powering a quasar, 3C 273. A quasar is a galactic centre that glows brightly as the black hole consumes material in its immediate surroundings. The quasar, identified in 1963 by astronomer Maarten Schmidt, is 2.5 billion light-years away.
