NASA shares pic as Mars lights up during epic solar storm

An X12 solar flare was recorded by NASA-ESA's Solar Orbiter spacecraft on May 20. The flare sent X-rays and gamma rays toward Mars, followed by a coronal mass ejection of charged particles, lighting up the red planet, as shown in picture shared by NASA. It was the highest radiation measured by Curiosity's RAD, since the rover landed 12 years ago.
