NASA to test undersea robot BRUIE in Antarctica for first time

NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) engineers are developing the undersea robot BRUIE, or Buoyant Rover for Under-Ice Exploration, for underwater exploration in extraterrestrial, icy waters. The robotic explorer will be rolling into Antarctica this month to drive upside down under sea ice. While BRUIE has previously been tested in Alaska and the Arctic, this is its first trial in Antarctica.
