National Geographic has fired the last of its staff writers, reported The Washington Post. According to the report, 19 employees were affected by the layoffs. Going forward, the article assignments will reportedly be contracted out to freelancers or compiled together by editors. The magazine will no longer be sold on newsstands in the US from 2024, it added.
