Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni, has initiated the production of seeds through farmer producer companies (FPCs) in the state. With 80 per cent of the field crop seeds in Himachal being sourced from other states, according to the State Seed Certification Agency's data (2019-20), this project aims to reverse the trend and empower FPCs.
