The Narcotics Control Bureau said its conviction rate rose to 68.6% in the first quarter of 2026, with 73 drug offenders convicted across India. Among them, four received 20-year sentences and 54 got 10 years or more. Officials attributed the rise to improved trial monitoring and coordinated enforcement efforts.
