NCERT granted Deemed University status, can launch academic courses

Ministry of Education declared the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) as an 'Institution Deemed to be University', Union MoS Dr Sukanta Majumdar said. He added that it is subject to NCERT taking appropriate steps to launch "innovative academic programmes" and research courses. The declaration was made on the recommendation of the University Grants Commission.
