A UK-based human rights body said nearly 600 people were killed during the recent sectarian violence between the Druze and Bedouin communities in southern Syria. Among the casualties were Syrian government personnel reportedly killed in Israeli air strikes, which Israel said it carried out to protect the Druze and make the government forces withdraw from the country's Sweida region.
